Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Pittsburgh is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Honestly I’m giving this place one star because I really liked the idea they were trying to accomplish but the execution was horrible. First off, the restaurant was suppose to reopen at 5pm the did not for a couple minutes bt that was no problem. The issues came soon after when they had us wait 20 minutes before someone came to take our orders for drinks and food, during that time we ordered a “starter” assuming it would come out before our food, it did not. After waiting an additional 30 minutes the manager/owner can to provide silverware at which I asked about our starter, which was fried zucchini btw and he said he would go check on it for us. Turns out there was a miscommunication with the kitchen and they prepared all of our food at once again not a problem just an inconvenience. Here’s when the problem came in, when the manager/owner finally brung out our fried zucchini he literally used his bare fingers to test the temperature of our food. Not only that, bt then he still proceeded to give us cold zucchini 😑. After that we were extremely disappointed and disgusted and decided to leave so after almost an hr of waiting we only received 2 sodas.

I was looking for dinner nearby my hotel, and specifically wanted salmon so this restaurant popped up. After reading the reviews and learning about the mission of the restaurant it was an easy decision to come here. For my appetizer, I ordered the asparagus and for my main, I was planning on the salmon but they were out so I got the Bronzino instead. Both dishes were delicious. As someone who normally hates mushrooms I was amazed by how delicious these mushrooms were! Highly recommend not only for the mission, but also for the execution of the dishes.

Delicious. I was determined to love it because of the mission but was pleasantly surprised that the food was really good. The asparagus was tender but not mushy, for me the ricotta could have used salt. The parmesian brussel sprouts were fabulous...perfectly seasoned and tender. The house made chips were crisp and flavorful. Then the burger was actually cooked to temp requested and was a delicious neat blend with flavorful bacon. Can't wait to come back. The prices were very reasonable

Cafe Momentum was an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. The service was above and beyond, and the food was truly finger-licking good! We visited during Restaurant Week and enjoyed a three-course meal that did not disappoint. The meatball, salmon, and smothered chicken literally melted in your mouth. The meatball does have a little kick, but my 7-year-old nephew loved it so much he said he’d just drink water after every bite 🤣. We also ordered a short rib pizza, and wow—every bite was a gift from heaven. The short ribs were incredibly tender and perfectly seasoned. Most of us couldn’t even finish our entrées because we devoured the entire eight-slice pizza first! The collard greens and spinach were seasoned to perfection, and the biscuits… whew. I almost bought the mix, but then realized I probably wouldn’t do them justice at home. And let’s talk about dessert! A chocolate tart with raspberry drizzle and a cran-apple cobbler that came out piping hot in a mini cast-iron skillet, topped with ice cream—need I say more? 😋 Don’t sleep on the mint lemonade either 🥰. Overall, this experience is an absolute MUST. Incredible food paired with an even more incredible missi

I had the pleasure of speaking with three waiters: Sam, Taru, and Daivon. They took great care with our table! We had the lobster ravioli and smoke fried chicken. I’m from the South and these were some solid greens: little tang, sweet and heat. No pics of the food…we cleared our plates before we could even consider it! The whipped cream on both the chocolate torte and the strawberry shortcake was divine. I love the mission of Cafe Momentum and will recommend this spot to others around Pittsburgh who need a great spot to eat + support a mission of collaboration and community restoration.
